Tips and Tricks magazine was one of the greatest general coverage video game magazines from the era. The main feature in this magazine was that the back half of every Issue contained cheat codes for all the relevant game consoles at the time. This was big as most people did not have access to the internet and these video gaming magazines were the best connection many had to a form of community for their hobby.
I remember having a copy of Tips and Tricks at school was like having gold. Everyone would want to borrow your magazine to see what cheat codes they could find for the games in their collection. If you happened to have one of the Codebooks that Tips and Tricks released periodically you could find Cheat codes for every game console and game available at the time. It was like having Gamefaqs in a 100+ page magazine!
